Hey! Boy, it's been a long time. I got so busy with everything that I just stopped posting. Thanks, Gen Xer for the sweet message. Things have been really good since my last post, but really, really strange. Here's a recap.
1 Work - they fired everyone that was a problem, and hired a friend to be my boss. It's going well, though she's still a little overwhelmed and we're all working out having a new team member that's kind of in charge. Still, feeling optimistic.
2 The Wedding - was lovely, though done in a record heat wave. The good - all the thoughtful details that people did for us, getting see family and friends, the crawfish boil, the brunch, hanging out. Even mom was sweet, low-key, and surprisingly stylish. The bad - the heat, Dr. Boy's suit was ruined a few minutes before the wedding so we got fewer photos and he was married in wool, issues with our rings remain, and not everyone played nicely with each other. Still, overall, it was great. The photos arrived yesterday... I really don't like photos of myself, there weren't as many as we'd planned for, and very few of us together because we spent the day talking to other people. Still we got a few that I love, and that's all you need. And, our photographer was a trooper as the day shifted. Dinner was incredible, and the memories are magical.
3 The honeymoon - Costa Rica coast to coast. Some eco-roughing-it, some luxury, and a lot of wildlife. We will go back, and recommend it highly. Even a 5 star hotel isn't expensive, and plane tickets are $200-$300 if you catch a deal.
4 Life since the wedding - fells the same, maybe a little better. We're hating being singled out as newlyweds and being the center of attention, but having a good time giggling about calling each other 'boyfriend,' 'girlfriend,' or getting my name wrong.
So I still have announcements to send out, and thank you notes, but life it coming back to normal after a crazy year.
Random - I've recently switched to decaf and I love it. I skipped my coffee one day, got walloped with a headache, and realized that I was drinking at least 4 caffeinated drinks a day and using Excedrin to ward off headaches. So, I've quit the hard stuff, and feel a lot better. I'm much more alert in the morning, less grumpy, and I have fewer headaches. So, I raise a decaf-diet-Arnold Palmer to you all!
Drop me a line and tell me how you've been!
