We went to see Enchanted tonight. It was great - you should go. It's a Disney send up of, well, Disney, and a nice post-feminist twist on the usual. The animated parts are very Deco (I love the fonts!), and the acting is pretty good. Even Patrick Dempsey couldn't ruin it, and was somewhat charming.
Yah, THAT'S RIGHT. Know how you feel about Renee and Angelina? That's how I feel about McDreamy. Somewhere between wanting to puke and wanting to pop his stupid, sappy face.
Where was I?
So, good movie. Even Dr. Boy liked it, and the kids around us all had a good time. There's a great dance sequence in Central Park.
But, go see it for Amy Adams. She is a goddamned miracle in this movie. She is the living, breathing embodiment of a Disney princess. It was amazing. She moves like one, sounds like one, and never breaks character.
It won't happen, but that girl should win an Oscar for this. Go - worth the $9 to see her on the big screen.
