I was told that there two moms who wanted to volunteer to help me with a Big Project. I went to the meeting, and it turns out, they want us to pay them. They dropped this bomb on me and several other administrators in a meeting with the people who portrayed them as volunteers. But, in for a penny, in for a pound, and I had been told that these women were important to my superiors.
They hounded me before the Big Event, and I finally pushed meeting with them back to today. They're rude. They're self-centered. They want us to pay a lot of money for a small benefit to a small number of kids. They left and I was not excited.
Then they came back and told me that they expect me to pay them for this meeting today and any subsequent meetings.
I really hope this ends up as my decision and I get to fire them. Because powerful, connected, and opinionated is one thing, fleecing my budget is QUITE another. Unbelievable.
